Hot ChipGig Of The Week – Hot Chip’s secret Crisis gig

Plenty of action this week in London, even if the big names seem oddly missing. Hot Chip come out on top of the pile with the first of Crisis’ ‘Hidden Gigs’. The location of these shows remain secret until 24 hours before the gig, and then details sent on to ticket holders. The point of this, Crisis say, is to raise awareness of the day-to-day uncertainty of homeless people’s lives. The Chip are currently in the studio working on new material, making this an early opportunity to see which direction the band take next. Support comes in live form from Man Like Me, and on the decks from uber-DJ Erol Alkan. In support of the whole shebang, Al from the band has directed a new video for Over and Over featuring folk who’ve benefited from Crisis’ services. Watch it here! Tickets: See

Elsewhere, Barden’s hosts a couple of cracking shows, with BLK JKS on Wednesday and Bishop Allen on Thursday. The latter also headline Brixton Windmill on Sunday. Love Is All play Koko on Saturday, but if you were umming about that one I’d suggest the Lexington gig on the Sunday is probably a better place to see the Scandi funsters. For a bit of classic action you could do worse than see Devo perform their classic Q. Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! over at the Forum.
