#29 – Atmosphere – The Ropes

Minneapolis’ duo Atmopshere appear in our top tracks countdown for the second year running with this cut from the free digital EP Leak At Will. Released as a thanks to fans following last year’s superb When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold this track features easily the strongest beat on the EP, along with one of Slug’s typically lyrical raps, this time about kids being encouraged to get involved in petty crime by bigger, older players – “they gave you that rope so you could hang yourself” – it’s a cracking tune and if these boys can give this standard of stuff away for free, expect big things from their next full release.
